Semester 1 Final

This Semester in e-communication I created multiple different types of videos. Such as a commercial, a music video, a short film and a through my eyes.    COMMERCIAL   For this years commercial, we did a Polaroid commercial. It went over the span of memories, while a girl was heading off to college. We wanted to originally do a video where it was a girlfriend and a boyfriend having to separate for college but we decided to go with a sister and her younger brother because it fit better and was easier to get actors for it. Truthfully, I wasn't very proud of this project. Mostly because we had a lot of issues going into it. Such as group members not following through, cameras that kept refusing to work, and color grading because of the cameras.  https://youtu.be/fI_AoRfygLE MUSIC VIDEO For the music video in this class we did K by CAS. The story followed a girl and a boyfriend who he kept filming her, and then things kept happening to make them breakup. We see them breakup and

Professional Music Video

into you by ariana grande https://youtu.be/1ekZEVeXwek This music video was apart of my focus because of the pink tone to the edit. The storyline was also very well thought out and shown throughout the video. There were no holes in the plot line which was amazing because it didn't leave any confusion. I love professional music videos because they tell the full story, have a lot of shots, and the shots are well done. I believe this specific music video really used a variety of the shots and the camera movements.

Music Video

MUSIC VIDEO BLOG         For our music video we did K by CAS. The concept of our video is a girlfriend and a boyfriend, in the beginning the boyfriend is sitting in the car, putting in a cassette he and his girlfriend bought at a record store. He puts it in, and K starts playing. It cuts to flashbacks of videos that he had taken of his girlfriend as they strolled around the city and made memories. It shows all of their home videos. It shows them going over time and celebrating birthdays and different times in their relationship. We filmed this video starting at 3:30pm and went all the way until 10:00pm. We shot in about 20 different places, throughout the entire night. The opening car scenes and ending car scenes are in black and white to give it more of a gloomy and upset effect.  While filming this video I feel like my editing skills will be improved by watching Ryan edit a few of the scenes, and I feel my cinematography will improve as well because of Erin and watching al

Polaroid Commercial

https://youtu.be/4eSyM2ubFjQ We chose this product because everyone knows what a Polaroid camera is, wether you're older or younger. The concept for our script was a sister who's going off to college and her little brother is saying goodbye to her, as they say goodbye old pictures of them together on polaroid film are shown and a montage of memories play. We originally were going to do a boyfriend and a girlfriend saying goodbye as she goes off to college. I was acting, an editor and helped plan. We made sure to use lighting correctly even after having a bunch of issues with what we were filming with. We had to originally use iPhones because our equipment wasn't working correctly. If I could do anything differently I would make it more clear that its a brother and sister, I would use better equipment for the entire thing, and I would use better lighting. We used the song Yesterday by the Beatles because it fit the scenario well to us. I would keep everything the same if

The Hidden Reflection Blog

The Hidden premiere was a very nice and entertaining experience. I had a lot of fun and was able to understand what its like in the professional world to see your work up on the big screen. Even though I had a very small and minor, to no role in this film, it was still cool to see my peers work and know how happy they were to see their work up on the screen. My favorite part was the limo ride, I was able to hangout with my friends and get to sing and dance and drink endless sodas with them in the car. Eating was fun as well but I just had the most fun in the limo. Although I had to leave early because I got sick, I still had fun and would do it all over again

No Film School Blog Post

Franchesca Manzella Screenwriting https://nofilmschool.com/2017/05/why-screenwriting-rules-are-myth      I chose to do this topic over screenwriting, its not what I was involved with for The Hidden, but thats because I wasn't really given a role for that film. I chose something Im very interested in and actively working on all the time. No Film School has multiple articles on how screenwriting rules are "myths" and tips and tricks. This specific article talked about how screenwriters should have no true base of how to write an accurate screenplay. It goes over how critics or mobs will debunk a script just based off what they personally believe. One writer said, "If you have to use flashbacks, your script is s***". It then lists and goes into multiple major grossing films who have in fact used flashbacks as a major form of their script.     Another form of concept people believe can't make a good script, is writing what you can't show. Such as if y
